April 2016 Reading Wrap-Up

This month was interesting reading-wise. I wasn’t wanting to read much the first few weeks, then Authorathon and Dewey’s 24 hour Readathon happened. I read most of these books during the latter part of April.

  • The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski 3/5
  • The Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutkoski 4/5
  • Jane Steele by Lyndsay Faye 4/5
  • Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons 4/5
  • The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling 3/5
  • Play Nice by Gemma Halliday 4/5
  • What It?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions by Randall Munroe (audiobook) 4/5
  • Hurricane Kiss by Deborah Blumenthal 3/5
  • Head Over Heels (Geek Girl #5) by Holly Smale 4/5

During Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon I read:

  • The Love that Split the World by Emily Henry 5/5
  • When We Collided by Emery Lord 4/5
  • The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame 2/5
  • The Braeswood Tapestry by Robyn Carr 3/5
  • Amulet Volume 7 by Kazu Kibuishi 4/5

I am currently reading The Summer Before the War. I’m approx 20% into it and I love it so far. I hope everyone had a lovely April. I can’t believe it’s May!

  1. I’m leaving a comment here because I can’t leave it at your post The Book Pillow. I added my book to the category, and I saw yours. I read The Makioka Sisters. Though fiction, it’s realistic, and the author based the characters of the 4 sisters in the real sisters of his wife and women he obviously knew. I thought THE SAME. I share so much with those women, and the account of their lives, the little unimportant details and events, were moving for this unimportant mom in the 21st century USA. I’m now intrigued about The Book Pillow too. I also LOVED my non western author title, and I’m glad for the Back to the Classic challenge and its categories.
